Inspect the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb filament.

Is the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb filament open?

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment courtesy lamp electrical connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN position.
  3. Use a test light in order to connect between the rear compartment courtesy lamp harness connector terminal A and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment courtesy lamp switch electrical connector.
  2. Use a test light in order to connect between B+ and the rear compartment courtesy lamp switch harness connector terminal B.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Connect a test light between B+ and the rear compartment courtesy lamp harness connector terminal B.
  2. Connect a 10A fused jumper between the rear compartment courtesy lamp switch harness connector terminals A and B.

Replace the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb.

Repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 737 or circuit 1393.

Note: Inspect for a faulty rear compartment courtesy lamp diode.

Repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 350.

Replace the rear compartment courtesy lamp switch.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors and components that were removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  5. Remove the MALL PGM fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle.)
  7. Within one second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the OFF position, then back to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored.)
