Inspect the fuse block for an open in IP-IGN fuse block.

Is the IP-IGN fuse open?

  1. Repair the short to ground in CKT 39.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the symptom still present?

System OK

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster head-up display (HUD) connector.
  2. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance between the instrument cluster HUD harness connector terminal A8 and ground.

Is the measured resistance to ground within the specified value?

0-3 ohms

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

  1. Repair any opens, a poor connection, or a short to B+ in CKT 1550 between the instrument cluster HUD harness connector terminal A8 and G200.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the symptom still present?

System OK

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch harness connector terminal A and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

9-14 Volts

Go to Step 7

  1. Repair any opens, a poor connection, or a short to ground in CKT 39 between the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch harness connector terminal A and the fuse block IP-IGN fuse.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the symptom still present?

System OK

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reconnect the instrument cluster HUD harness connector.
  3. Connect a fused 10 amp jumper between the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch harness connector terminals A and F.
  4. Connect a fused 10 amp jumper between the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch harness connector terminals A and C.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Is the instrument cluster HUD operational?

Inspect for any opens, poor connection, or a short to ground in CKT 622 between the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch harness connector terminal F and the instrument cluster HUD harness connector terminal A1.

Is the wiring CKT 662 open, shorted to ground, or showing signs of excessive resistance?

Go to Step 9

  1. Repair CKT 622 between the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch harness connector terminal F and the instrument cluster HUD harness connector terminal A1, as needed.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the symptom still present?

  1. Replace the instrument cluster head-up display (HUD). Refer to Head Up Display Module Replacement .
  2. Inspect the system.

  1. Replace the instrument cluster head-up display (HUD) dimmer switch. Refer to Head Up Display Switch Replacement .
  2. Inspect the system.
