Removal Procedure
- Use a heat gun 152 mm (6 in) from the surface in
order to heat the molding.
Apply the heat for approximately 30 seconds using a circular
motion.
Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent
surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
- Use a putty knife in order to lift the molding away from
the weld joint.
- Peel the molding away from the weld joint.
- Clean the weld joint molding area.
Installation Procedure
- Remove 152 mm (6 in)
of protective liner at the front edge of the molding.
- Use a heat lamp or heat gun in order to warm the body panel to
a minimum of 21°C (70°F).
- Align and center the front edge of the molding with the front
edge of the weld joint.
- Press the molding into place.
- Continue peeling back the liner, centering the molding and pressing
into the joint.
