Removal Procedure
- Use a heat gun 152 mm
(6 in) from the surface in order to heat the front bumper fascia emblem.
Apply the heat for approximately 30 seconds using a circular
motion.
Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent
surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
- Use a flat-bladed tool in order to peel the front bumper fascia emblem
from the front bumper fascia surface.
- Remove the front bumper fascia emblem adhesive from the front
bumper fascia using 3M ScotchBrite molding adhesive remover disk 3M
P/N 07501 or equivalent.
Caution: Exposure to isocyanates during paint preparation and application processes
can cause severe breathing problems. Read and follow all of the instructions
from the manufacturers of painting materials, equipment, and protective gear.
- Use Varnish Makers and Painters (VM&P) naptha or equivalent in order
to clean the body panel.
Installation Procedure
- Use a heat lamp or heat gun in order to warm the front bumper
fascia to a minimum of 21°C (70°F).
- Peel the backing from
the front end of the front bumper fascia emblem.
Do not touch the adhesive backing.
- Press the front bumper fascia emblem to the front bumper fascia
while continuing to remove the backing.
- Hand roll the front bumper fascia emblem to the front bumper fascia
in order to ensure proper adhesion.
- Inspect the front bumper fascia emblem ends for bonding.
Hand roll the loose ends.
