Removal Procedure

    Important: Protect molding with heavy material tape to avoid damaging underlying paint finish or molding. Do not use pointed or sharp instruments for removal of the door molding.

  1. Remove the window weatherstrip retainer. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Retainer Replacement .
  2. Remove the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 315650 Size: SH
  3. Remove the front door frame molding screws.
  4. Remove the front door frame molding from the door.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 315650 Size: SH
  1. Install the front door frame molding to the door.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the front door frame molding screws.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the door frame molding screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  3. Install the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  4. Install the window weatherstrip retainer. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Retainer Replacement .
