Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left and right insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side and to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  4. Object Number: 508311  Size: SH
  5. Remove the heater outlet cover retaining screws.
  6. Important: Position the heater outlet cover downward and rearward in order to disconnect the cover from the rear floor area duct assembly.

  7. Remove the heater outlet cover.

  9. Remove the vent door (1) from the HVAC control module.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 607149  Size: SH

    Important: Align the vent door into the HVAC control module case.

  1. Install the vent door (1) into the HVAC control module.

  2. Object Number: 508311  Size: SH
  3. Install the heater outlet cover.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the heater outlet cover retaining screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  7. Install the floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  8. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  9. Install the left and right insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side and to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
