Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 656656 Size: SH
  1. Lower the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the right front carpet retainer. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Pull back the carpet for access.
  4. Remove the right instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  5. Remove the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  6. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
  7. Cut off the visible ends of the front extension cable to be replaced.

  8. Disconnect the antenna extension cable from the rear window.
  9. Remove the screw from the antenna extension cable bracket.

    10. Important: Take note of the antenna extension cable routing before removal from the vehicle.

  10. Remove the tape from the antenna extension cable.
  11. Remove the antenna extension cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the antenna extension cable to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the bolt to the antenna extension cable bracket.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  3. Connect the antenna extension cable to the rear window.
  4. Connect the antenna extension cable to the roof side rail using tape.

  5. Install the antenna extension cable to the radio.
  6. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
  7. Reposition the front carpet.
  8. Install the right front carpet retainer. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Install the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. Install the right instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  11. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim
