Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat.

- Remove the E/Z entry manual release knob. Refer to
Inertia Latch Replacement

- Remove the front seat trim panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors, as required.
- Unfasten the J-retainer on the outboard side of the seat cushion
cover.
- Slide up the sewn side of the cushion cover up in order to expose
the recliner/seat back attachment.
- Remove the roll pins from the hinge supports and the recliner.
Discard the roll pins.
- Remove the recliner to seat frame pivot bolts.
- Remove the front seat back from the front seat.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front seat
back to the front seat.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the recliner
to seat frame pivot bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the recliner to seat frame pivot bolts to 24 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the new roll pins to the hinge supports and recliner.
- Fasten the J-retainer on the outboard side of the seat cushion
cover.
- Connect the electrical connectors, as needed.
- Install the front seat trim panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement

- Install the E/Z entry manual release knob. Refer to
Inertia Latch Replacement
.
- Install the front seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
