Roof Console Replacement With Storage
Removal Procedure
- Remove the screw located by the windshield.
- Insert a flat-bladed tool to the rear of the off/on switches and
detach the console lamp assembly.
- Disconnect the lamp electric connector.
- Open the storage compartments.
- Remove the overhead console
screws.
- Remove the overhead console housing.
- Remove the backing plate.
Installation Procedure
- Install the backing plate.
- Install the overhead console housing.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the overhead
console screws.
Tighten
Tighten the overhead console screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the screw located by the windshield.
Tighten
Tighten the overhead console screw to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Close the storage units.
- Connect the lamp electrical connector.
- Install the overhead console reading lamp.
Roof Console Replacement W/Out Storage
Removal Procedure
- Insert a flat-tipped tool
at the rear edge of the console (1) and rotate rearward to release the clips.
- Pull the console down
and disconnect the electrical connectors to the sunroof switch (1)
and to the garage door transmitter.
- Remove the overhead console from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the overhead console in the vehicle
- Connect the electrical
connector to the sunroof switch (1) and to the garage door transmitter.
- Position the front tabs in the sunroof bezel.
- Press the console up to secure the rear clips.
