Removal Procedure

  1. Open the instrument panel (IP) compartment door.

  2. Object Number: 311704  Size: SH
  3. Remove the IP compartment latch screws.
  4. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the retainer clip from the IP compartment.

  5. Object Number: 311706  Size: SH
  6. Remove the IP compartment latch from the IP compartment door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 311706  Size: SH
  1. Align the IP compartment latch with the IP compartment door.

  2. Object Number: 311704  Size: SH
  3. Slide the retainer clip onto the IP compartment latch.
  4. Route the lock rod into the IP latch.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the IP compartment latch screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  8. Close the IP compartment door.
