Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1223560 Size: SH
  1. Remove the receiver dryer. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement .
  2. Remove the Power Steering Pump Drive belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement in Power Steering System.
  3. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  4. Remove the bolt securing the low pressure pipe line to the compressor (1).
  5. Remove the bolt securing the high pressure pipe line to the compressor (2).

  6. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).
  7. Remove the upper bolt mounting the compressor-to-bracket (1).
  8. Remove the lower bolts mounting the compressor-to-bracket (3).
  9. Remove the compressor.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the compressor with the mounting upper (1) and lower (2) bolts.

    2. Tighten

        • Tighten the compressor-to-bracket upper bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
        • Tighten the compressor-to-bracket lower bolt to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
  2. Connect the electrical connector.

  3. Install the A/C high pressure pipe line to the compressor with the bolt (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C high pressure pipe line bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  4. Install the A/C low pressure pipe line to the compressor with the bolt (2).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C low pressure pipe line bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  5. Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  6. Install the Power Steering Drive belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement in Power Steering System.
  7. Install the receiver dryer. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement .
