Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1618038 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement.
  4. Remove the liftgate handle nuts.
  5. Remove the license plate lamps. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  6. Remove the liftgate handle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the license plate lamps. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1618038 Size: SH
  2. Install the liftgate handle with the nuts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the liftgate handle nuts to (5 N·m) (44 in lb).

  3. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement.
  4. Close the liftgate.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
