🢒 Heater Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
Recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Remove the instrument panel carrier assembly. Refer to
Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement
.
Compress the heater hose clamps and slide the clamps toward the engine.
Remove the 2 heater hoses from the bulkhead.
Remove the nuts that secure the A/C suction hose and liquid evaporator pipe connector block at the bulkhead.
From the engine side of the bulkhead, remove the screws that secure the heater/air distribution case assembly to the bulkhead.
Remove the case condensation drain hose under the glove box.
Remove the heater/air distribution case assembly nuts.
Remove the heater/air distribution case assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the heater/air distribution case assembly to the vehicle.
Install the case condensation drain hose.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the heater/air distribution case assembly nuts and tighten to
4 N·m (35 lb in)
.
Install the heater/air distribution case assembly screws and tighten to
8 N·m (71 lb in)
.
Install the A/C suction hose and liquid evaporator pipe onto the evaporator flange connector block. Tighten the nuts to
14 N·m (10 lb ft)
.
Connect the 2 heater hoses to the heater core pipe.
Slide the heater hose clamps into the position.
Install the instrument panel carrier assembly. Refer to
Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement
.
Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
