SEPTEMBER 92 - FEBRUARY 93
As the statistics indicate, the most common call that Roadside advisors receive is from 1993 Pontiac drivers who either lose their keys or lock them in their car. Lost or locked keys is something that can easily happen to any of us.
As you know, included in each glove box portfolio (except LeMans) is an emergency "credit card" key blank. Be sure this key is cut and explained to the customer upon taking delivery of their vehicle. Encourage them to keep the "credit card" key in an accessible area (i.e. wallet or purse) in case they ever need to use it. Owners can temporarily use the key to unlock the doors on all 1993 Pontiac models.
Your extra effort in this area is just one more reflection of how "Caring" is not an option at Pontiac, it is a standard feature!!
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
