CAMPAIGN: INCORRECT TIRE INFORMATION LABEL

DEFECT INVOLVED GENERAL MOTORS HAS DETERMINED THAT SOME 1984 PONTIAC PARISIENNES ASSEMBLED WITH RALLY TUNED SUSPENSIONS FAIL TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD 110 "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THE TIRE INFORMATION LABEL LOCATED ON THE LEFT FRONT DOOR OF THESE VEHICLES MAY NOT HAVE CORRECT TIRE SIZE INFORMATION. ALTHOUGH THE CORRECT SIZE TIRES WERE INSTALLED ON THESE VEHICLES DURING ASSEMBLY, THE INCORRECT TIRE INFORMATION LABEL CANNOT BE USED TO SELECT THE SAME REPLACEMENT TIRES. DEALER ACTION DEALERS ARE TO INSTALL THE CORRECT TIRE INFORMATION LABEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED IN THIS BULLETIN. TO MINIMIZE INCONVENIENCE, THE OWNER LETTER ADVISED ALL OWNERS THEY MAY INSTALL THE LABELS THEMSELVES. A CORRECT LABEL WAS SENT TO EACH OWNER. OWNERS WERE ALSO ADVISED THEY MAY ELECT TO HAVE THEIR DEALER INSTALL THE TIRE INFORMATION LABEL AT NO CHARGE. VEHICLES INVOLVED MODEL PLANT BEGINNING VIN ENDING VIN PARISIENNE FAIRFAX SOP EX206712 PARISIENNE OSHAWA SOP EX9701810 SERVICE PROCEDURE INSTALLATION OF TIRE PRESSURE LABEL 1. OPEN DRIVER'S DOOR. 2. CLEAN CERTIFICATION TIRE PRESSURE LABELS AND THE AREA OF THE DOOR AROUND THE LABELS. 3. REMOVE BACKING FROM THE ENCLOSED LABEL. 4. INSTALL LABEL COVER OVER LOWER PORTION OF TIRE PRESSURE LABEL. 5. CLOSE DRIVER'S DOOR. PARTS INFORMATION EACH OWNER WILL HAVE BEEN SENT THE CORRECT TIRE INFORMATION LABEL WITH HIS/HER OWNER LETTER. IF AN OWNER REQUESTS ASSISTANCE, AND THE LABEL IS DESTROYED OR DEFACED, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL ZONE OFFICE TO REQUEST A REPLACEMENT LABEL.
