Do This

Don't Do This

Explain to the customer that this is the desired finish.

DO NOT refinish the door jamb, underhood or inside the decklid areas.

Appearance Concerns

Some customers or dealers may note that the door jamb, underhood and the inside of the decklid areas of the vehicle have a matte finish, while other Cobalts/Pursuits may be shiny or glossy in these areas. Whether glossy or matte, the vehicle has the desired finish on it.

Process Changes

The initial Cobalt/Pursuit vehicles have a matte finish in the door jamb, underhood and the inside of the decklid areas. This low-luster finish hides minor scuffs and scratches (along with dirt), providing an attractive, long-lasting finish. This is a paint finish. From late August to early October of the 2006 model year (beginning with certain vehicle colors), these same areas will go to a high-gloss finish. This finish will be a powder coat and provide continued excellent scratch and corrosion resistance while switching to a high luster.
