Pontiac Solstice/Chevrolet HHR BCM Restriction - keywords inoperative module part PQC VME

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

General Motors is seeking early product performance feedback on the new Body Control Module used on the 2006 Chevrolet HHR and the 2006 Pontiac Solstice. This feedback allows for the early identification of product concerns so that issues may be resolved promptly, and also allows early dealer technician input as it relates to the quality of our published service information.

To support this initiative, starting Friday, July 15, 2005, General Motors will be placing the Body Control Module for the 2006 Chevrolet HHR and Pontiac Solstice, Part Number 15780945 on restriction for 60 days. Existing parts on order will be cancelled, and new orders will be required in order to replace them should a vehicle require one. At this time, these parts are not available for normal dealer inventory, and should only be ordered to complete an immediate warranty or customer pay repair.

In order to obtain P/N 15780945, the dealership will be required to contact the PQC at 1-866-654-7654. Please be certain that all proper diagnostic steps have been followed, and have the SI document number available when you call.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
