The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
On a W.O.T. hard (power) shift from 1st to 2nd gear at 4500 RPM or above, there is a hiss type noise coming from the engine compartment. This is due to the generator turning faster than the engine RPM after the shift and the noise is the belt slipping on the generator pulley.
None at this time: Powertrain Engineering is working on a service replacement generator for this condition.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
