Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

  1. Disconnect the turn/hazard flasher connector.
  2. Connect the test lamp between terminal 2 of the turn/hazard flasher harness connector and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Turn the hazard switch to the ON position.
  2. Connect the fused jumper between terminal 2 and terminal 3 of the turn/hazard flasher harness connector.

Do the hazard lamps illuminate but not flash?

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in CKT 140 between the fuse block and the turn/hazard flasher. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the turn/hazard flasher.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Reconnect the turn/hazard flasher connector.
  2. Disconnect the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly connector.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire between terminal D and terminal F of the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly harness connector C2.

Does the left front turn lamp flash?

Repair the open in CKT 27 between the turn/hazard flasher and the turn/hazard - headlamp switch assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
