Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 1999 🢒 Sunfire 🢒 Body and Accessories 🢒 Lighting Systems 🢒 Backup Lamp Circuit Description

On vehicles with an automatic transmission, voltage is applied from the TRN-B/U fuse to the transaxle range switch when the ignition switch is in one of the following positions:

    • ON
    • BULB TEST
    • START

On vehicles with a manual transmission, voltage is applied from the TRN-B/U fuse to the back-up lamps switch when the ignition switch is in one of the following positions:

    • ON
    • BULT TEST
    • START

When the transaxle is in the REVERSE position, voltage is applied to the following lamps:

    • The LH back-up lamps
    • The RH back-up lamps

The above lamps are permanently grounded.

When voltage is applied to CKT 24, the back-up lamps are on.
