  1. Sit in the driver's seat.
  2. Close the door.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Unbuckle the driver's seat belt.

The fasten belts chime sounds for 4 to 8 seconds.

  1. Sit in the driver's seat.
  2. Close the door.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Unbuckle the driver's seat belt.
  5. Buckle the driver's seat belt.
    • The chime does not sound.
    • The FASTEN BELTS indicator does not light.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Leave the key in the ignition switch lock cylinder.
  3. Open the driver's door.

The key-in-ignition chime sounds at an initial rate of 6 to 9 tones in 3 to 4 seconds. This rate is faster than the seat belt chime. After the initial warning, the chimes sound at the rate of once every 3 to 4 seconds.

Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.

The chime stops.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Open the driver's door.

The lights-on chime sounds at the rate of 5 tones per second. This rate is faster than the key-in-ignition chime.

Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.

The chime stops.

Open the right front door.

The interior lights illuminate.

Power Output Diagnostic Mode. The following actions verify the operation of the following components:

    • The parasitic power control
    • The courtesy lamps control
    • The inadvertent power control outputs
  1. Close the front doors.
  2. Set the park brake.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. Before 15 seconds pass, perform the following steps:
  4. 3.1. Open the right front door.
    3.2. Cycle the headlamp switch from the OFF position to the PARK position 3 times.

The interior lamps flash until you turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. The multi-function alarm module returns to normal operation.
