Removal Procedure

The seat latch striker is found on coupe and convertible models. Shims are placed behind the striker on the convertible only.

  1. Remove the rear seatback. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  2. Remove the center boot section (convertible only). Refer to Power Folding Top Operation in Roof.

  3. Object Number: 521658  Size: SH
  4. Remove the seat latch striker retaining bolts from the rear seat latch striker.
  5. Remove the seat latch striker from the vehicle.
  6. Remove the seat latch striker shims from the vehicle (convertible only).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 521658  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat latch striker shims to the vehicle (convertible only).
  2. Install the seat latch striker to the vehicle.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the seat latch striker retaining bolts to the seat latch striker.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the seat latch striker mounting bolts to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).

  6. Install the center boot section (convertible only). Refer to Power Folding Top Operation in Roof.
  7. Install the rear seatback. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
