in Tires and Wheels.
- Clean dirt, grease, and other foreign material from the hoses
and brake pipe fitting.
Important: Install a rubber cap or plug to the exposed brake pipe fitting end to
prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Use a backup wrench on the hose fitting, disconnect the brake pipe fitting

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the front
brake hose to the caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the retaining
clip to the front brake hose.
Important: Make sure the brake hose is not twisted. Make sure the brake hose is
not in contact with any suspension components.
- Connect the front brake pipe to the front brake hose.
Tighten
Tighten the front brake pipe to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Bleed the brake hydraulic system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
.
