HOT DRIVEABILITY IMPROVEMENTS PROM UPDATE

SOME 1982 CHEVETTES MAY EXPERIENCE HOT TIP-IN HESITATION. IF THIS CONDITION IS ENCOUNTERED, THE FOLLOWING CHANGES ARE RECOMMENDED: (1) ON VEHICLES WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION (MY1) AND FEDERAL (NA5) OR ALTITUDE EMISSIONS (NA6), SET INITIAL TIMING AT 8 BTDC. IN ADDITION, INSTALL NEW PROM, P/N 1226080. (2) ON VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (MX1) AND FEDERAL (NA5) OR ALTITUDE EMISSIONS (NA6), SET INITIAL TIMING AT 8 BTDC. (3) ON VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (MX1) AND CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS (NB2), SET INITIAL TIMING AT 8 BTDC. (4) ON VEHICLES WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION (MY1) AND CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS (NB2), SET INITIAL TIMING AT 4 BTDC. USE APPLICABLE LABOR OPERATION.
