This bulletin addresses two areas of Squeak/Rattle conditions on the rear bucket seats. Both areas should be investigated as a possible source of noise on all rear buckets seats.
------------ 1. Rattle type noise with vehicle in motion and rear seats are not occupied and seat back is in upright position. 2. Squeak or chirp noise from rear leg latch plate and handle.
-------- 1. Rubber bumper located on left side of seat at folding hinge (See Illustration) missing or deteriorated. 2. Insufficient or lack of lubrication on latch plate.
----------- Remove rear seat from vehicle:
1. Install new bumper, P/N 12508731. 2. Apply GM lubricant, P/N 1050109 or equivalent to both ends of latch plate on both sides of seats. (See Illustration).
