Removal Procedure
  1. Open and suitably support the hood.

    2. Object Number: 315265 Size: SH
  2. Remove the hood latch cable from the hood latch.

    3. Object Number: 315264 Size: SH
  3. Remove the hood latch cable retaining clips.
  4. Attach a length of mechanics wire to the hood latch cable prior to removal. This lead will assist in reinstallation of the new hood latch cable.
  5. Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Release Lever Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  6. Remove the hood latch cable and grommet rearward from the passenger compartment.

    7. Object Number: 315262 Size: SH
  7. Transfer the lead wire to the new hood latch cable.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 315262 Size: SH
  1. Using lead wire, pull the new hood latch cable through the cowl and into the engine compartment.
  2. Seat the grommet fully into the cowl.
  3. Install the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Release Lever Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

    4. Object Number: 315265 Size: SH
  4. Install the hood latch cable to the hood latch.

    5. Object Number: 315264 Size: SH
  5. Install the hood latch cable retaining clips.
  6. Close the hood.
