Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 Vibe - AWD 🢒 Power and Signal Distribution 🢒 Wiring Systems and Power Management 🢒 Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Remove the trim covers from the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement.

    3. Object Number: 2032447 Size: MH
  3. Slide the key amplifier to disengage the two clips (1),(2).

    4. Object Number: 2032452 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the connector (1) and remove the key amplifier.
  5. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement.
  6. Remove the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement.

    7. Object Number: 2032494 Size: SH
  7. Remove the two screws (2),(3) and the key interlock solenoid (1).

    8. Object Number: 2032502 Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the key interlock solenoid wire connector (1) from the key interlock solenoid.

    9. Object Number: 2032498 Size: SH
  9. Remove the key interlock solenoid wire (1) from the ignition lock cylinder case.

    10. Object Number: 2014823 Size: MH
  10. Remove the unlock warning switch assembly by pushing up the center part (1) and release the two clips.

    11. Object Number: 2032477 Size: SH
  11. Use a screw extractor (1) or a center punch in order to remove the two bolts from the ignition lock cylinder case.
  12. Remove the case and the case clamp from the steering column.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2032618 Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition lock cylinder case and the case clamp to the steering column.
  2. Install 2 NEW tapered head bolts (1). Tighten the bolts until the bolt heads break off.

    3. Object Number: 2014825 Size: SH
  3. Install the unlock warning switch assembly by pushing down the center part and engaging the two clips (1),(2).

    4. Object Number: 2032498 Size: SH
  4. Install the key interlock solenoid wire (1) to the ignition lock cylinder case.

    5. Object Number: 2032502 Size: SH
  5. Connect the key interlock solenoid wire connector (1) to the key interlock solenoid.

    6. Object Number: 2032494 Size: SH
  6. Install the two screws (2),(3) and the key interlock solenoid (1).
  7. Install the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement.
  8. Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement.

    9. Object Number: 2032452 Size: SH
  9. Connect the connector (1) to the key amplifier.

    10. Object Number: 2032447 Size: MH
  10. Slide the key amplifier to engage the two clips (1),(2).
  11. Install the trim covers from the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement.
  12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
