Removal Procedure
- Remove the filler plug and the gasket.
- Remove the drain plug and gasket, and then drain the manual transaxle oil.
Installation Procedure
- Install a new gasket and drain plug and tighten to 49 N·m (36 lb ft).
- Add manual transaxle oil to the proper level (a).
- Install the transmission filler plug and new gasket and tighten to 49 N·m (36 lb ft).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Inspection Procedure
- Inspect the manual transaxle oil.
- Stop the vehicle in a level place.
- Remove the transmission filler plug and gasket.
- Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.20 in) from the lowest position of the hole for the transmission filler plug opening.
- Check for oil leakage when the oil level is low.
- Install a new gasket and the transmission filler plug and tighten to 49 N·m (36 lb ft).
