Discharge Hose Replacement 2.4L (LAX)
Removal Procedure
Note: When installing a new hose assembly add 40 ml (1.4 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system.
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
Note: Cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the refrigeration system.
- Remove the bolt (10) and the discharge hose (8) from the compressor.
- Remove the bolt (12) and the discharge hose assembly (8) from the A/C condenser.
Installation Procedure
- Install new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
- Position the discharge hose assembly (8) into the vehicle.
- Install the discharge hose (8) to the A/C condenser.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the discharge hose bolt (12) to the A/C condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt (12) to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).
- Install the discharge hose (8) and bolt (10) to the compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt (10) to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).
- Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
- Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to
Leak Testing.

Removal Procedure
