Removal Procedure

    Note: When installing a new hose assembly add 40 ml (1.4 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system.

  1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.

  2. Object Number: 2044191  Size: SH

    Note: Cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the refrigeration system.

  3. Remove the bolt (4) and the evaporator tube (5) from the evaporator.
  4. Remove the bolt (3) and the suction hose  (7) from the evaporator tube (5).
  5. Remove the bolt (6) from the evaporator tube bracket.
  6. Remove the nut (2) from the evaporator tube bracket.
  7. Remove the bolt (1) from the evaporator tube bracket.
  8. Remove the bolt (11) from the evaporator tube (5) to A/C condenser.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.

  2. Object Number: 2044191  Size: SH
  3. Position the evaporator tube assembly (5) into the vehicle.
  4. Install the evaporator tube assembly (5) to the A/C condenser.
  5. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Install the bolt (11) to the A/C condenser.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt (11) to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  8. Install the bolt (1) to the evaporator tube bracket.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt (1) to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  10. Install the nut (2) to the evaporator tube bracket.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the nut (2) to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  12. Install the bolt (6) to the evaporator tube bracket.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt (1) to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  14. Install the bolt (3) and the suction hose  (7) to the evaporator tube (5).
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt (3) to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  16. Install the bolt (4) and the evaporator tube (5) to the evaporator.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt (4) to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  18. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  19. Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
