| ABS: Refer to ABS Description and Operation |
| Air Bag: Refer to SIR System Description and Operation |
(Export) BRAKE | BRAKE: Refer to Brake Warning System Description and Operation |
| Charge: Refer to Charging System Description and Operation |
| Fasten Seat Belt: Refer to Seat Belt System Description and Operation |
| High Beam: Refer to Exterior Lighting Systems Description and Operation |
| The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the engine oil pressure indicator when the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) detects low engine oil pressure, and the signal circuit is low. The IPC receives a class 2 message requesting illumination from the ECM/PCM. |
| MIL: Refer to Engine Control Module Description for the 2.2L (L61) engine or Powertrain Control Module Description for the 2.0L (LSJ) engine |
| Security: Refer to Theft Systems Description and Operation |
| Turn Signals: Refer to Exterior Lighting Systems Description and Operation |
| The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the shift indicator when the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) determines that the vehicle should be shifted to the next higher gear. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the ECM/PCM requesting illumination. |
Symbol | Description |
---|---|
CHG. OIL | The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives a class 2 message from the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) indicating that the engine oil should be changed. |
CHK GAGE | The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives a class 2 message from the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) indicating that the engine coolant temperature is over 123°C (253°F). This message is disabled when the engine coolant temperature is below 120°C (248°F). |
COOLANT | Coolant Level Low: Refer to Cooling System Description and Operation |
CRUISE | Cruise: Refer to Cruise Control Description and Operation |
Engine RPM Indicator | |
ERROR | Error: Refer to Data Link Communications Description and Operation |
LOW FUEL | The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives a class 2 message from the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) indicating the fuel level percent. The IPC displays the LOW FUEL message when the fuel level is at or below 10 percent. When the fuel level is above 25 percent, the LOW FUEL message is turned OFF. |
LOW TRAC | Low Traction: Refer to ABS Description and Operation |
OIL LIFE | The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the OIL LIFE message when the message center is in oil life monitor reset mode. When this message is displayed, the oil life monitor in the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) can be reset by holding the trip reset button for a few seconds. The ECM/PCM receives a class 2 message from the IPC to reset the oil life monitor. |
PWR STR | Power Steering: Refer to Power Steering System Description and Operation |
RESET | Reset: Refer to Indicator/Warning Message Description and Operation |
SERVICE VEHICLE | The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the SERVICE VEHICLE message when it receives a request from any module because of a detected problem. |
TRAC OFF | Traction Off: Refer to ABS Description and Operation |
TRANS COLD | Transmission Cold: Refer to Transmission Indicators and Messages |
TRANS HOT | Transmission Hot: Refer to Transmission Indicators and Messages |
TRUNK | Trunk Ajar: Refer to Luggage Compartment Description and Operation |
