Body Control Module (BCM)

Description

I/P Illumination Lamps

Lamp Test/Interior Lamps

The BCM turns the instrument panel illumination lamps on when you select ON. The illumination lamps should stay on until commanded OFF.

LF Turn Signal

Lamp Test/Exterior Lamps

The BCM illuminates the left front turn signal when commanded ON. The turn signal should stay illuminated until commanded OFF.

LR Turn Signal

Lamp Test/Exterior Lamps

The BCM illuminates the left rear turn signal when commanded ON. The turn signal should stay illuminated until commanded OFF.

RF Turn Signal

Lamp Test/Exterior Lamps

The BCM illuminates the right front turn signal when commanded ON. The turn signal should stay illuminated until commanded OFF.

RR Turn Signal

Lamp Test/Exterior Lamps

The BCM illuminates the right rear turn signal when commanded ON. The turn signal should stay illuminated until commanded OFF.

Security LED

Miscellaneous Test

The BCM illuminates the security telltale when commanded ON. The telltale should stay on until commanded OFF.

Description

Chime

Chime Test

The IPC turns the chime on when you select ON. The chime should sound at a slow rate until commanded OFF.

Lamp and Gage Check

The IPC illuminates the following indicators when you select ON:

    • ABS
    • Air Bag
    • BRAKE
    • Charge
    • Fasten Safety Belt
    • High Beam
    • Low Oil Pressure
    • LOW TRAC
    • Upshift Indicator

The IPC drives the following gages to maximum position when you select ON:

    • Engine Coolant Temperature Gage
    • Fuel Gage
    • Speedometer
    • Tachometer

The indicators should stay illuminated and all gages remain at maximum until commanded OFF. When commanded OFF, the indicators should turn OFF and all gages should remain at the minimum position until the test is exited or commanded ON.

LCD Display

The IPC drives all LCD message center display segments on when you select ON. The IPC turns all LCD segments OFF when you select OFF. The LCD segments should stay OFF until the test is exited or commanded ON.
