Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Observe the Oil Life Reset Switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) Switch Inputs data list.
4. Reset the GM Oil Life System. Refer to GM Oil Life System Resetting in Maintenance and Lubrication.

Does the Oil Life Reset Switch parameter display Low with the oil life reset?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 5

Does the change oil indicator remain illuminated?

Go to Step 4

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Replace the under hood fuse block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
