Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 895463  Size: SH
  1. Vehicles equipped with manual transaxles must disconnect the clutch hydraulic feed line from the master cylinder reservoir. Plug the line to avoid leakage and contamination.

  2. Object Number: 891929  Size: SH
  3. Remove the low brake fluid switch electrical connector and remove the switch by depressing the tabs on the opposite end of the switch.

  4. Syphon the brake fluid from the master brake cylinder reservoir.

  5. Object Number: 891936  Size: SH
  6. Unclip the reservoir hold down clamps and remove the reservoir by pulling upward.
  7. Remove the reservoir seals.

Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the new reservoir seals with clean brake fluid and install the seals into the master cylinder.
  2. Install the reservoir into the master cylinder. Be sure the locking tabs are engaged.

  3. Object Number: 891929  Size: SH
  4. Install the low brake fluid switch and the electrical connector.

  5. Object Number: 895463  Size: SH
  6. Vehicles equipped with manual transaxles must install the clutch hydraulic feed line to the master cylinder reservoir.
  7. Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Fill the brake reservoir with clean brake fluid up to the MAX mark on reservoir.
  9. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
