- Turn the ignition to the ACC position and turn the wiper switch to the
INT 1 position. the wipers should immediately activate. On INT 1, the time interval
between cycles (one cycle being one back-and-forth motion of the blades) should be
two seconds. On INT 2, the interval should be seven seconds. On INT 3, the interval
should be 12 seconds.
- Start the engine.
- Put the wiper switch on the LO speed position. The wipers should immediately
activate and the speed should be 47 +/- 5 cycles per minute.
- Put the wiper switch on the HI speed position. The wipers
should activate within one second and have a speed of 67 +/- 6 cycles per minute on
a wet windshield.
- Push down on the wiper switch to the MIST position. The wipers should
cycle once as long as the switch is being held in that position.
- Pull the wiper switch to the Wash position. The washer pump and wipers
should both activate within one second. The wipers should cycle twice and the washer
pump should remain on as long as the switch lever is pulled into the position. The
wiper swill complete two cycles before parking after wash.
Important: Do not operate the washer pump without fluid in the washer reservoir.
- With the wipers on the LO speed, crank the engine. The wipers should stop moving
and start again once the ignition is back in the Run position.
