Outer Door Panel Replacement Rear - Bolt On Coupe

1. Open the door and remove the retaining bolts on the rear of the jamb.
2. Close the door and remove the retaining bolts in the jamb.
3. Pull out the lower portion of the door panel, then slide the panel downward to clear the window encapsulated molding.

1. Install the upper portion of the outer panel first underneath the window encapsulated molding, then push the lower portion of the panel into position.
2. Push the panel against the door structure.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




3. Install the retaining bolts in the jamb. Follow the torque sequence of (1) and (2).

Tighten
Tighten the rear door exterior panel fasteners (3-Door Coupe) (Front of Door) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

4. Open the door and install the retaining bolts in the rear of the door (3-5).

Tighten
Tighten the rear door exterior panel fasteners (3-Door Coupe) (Rear of Door ) to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

5. Close the door and check the alignment of the door to the rear of the front door and the quarter outer panel.

Outer Door Panel Replacement Rear - Bolt On Sedan/Wagon

1. Remove the outer sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .



2. Remove the outer handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .



3. Remove the door structure to door outer panel screws and remove the door outer panel.
4. If replacing the panel, remove the J-clips.

1. If replacing the panel, install the J-clips.




Important: Apply LOCTITE 242® Threadlocker, or equivalent, to the fasteners before installation.

2. Install the outer door panel alignment pins into the net hole slot in the outer belt reinforcement (door structure).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the screws and tighten in the designated sequence.

Tighten
Tighten the rear outer door panel bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).




4. Install the outer door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .



5. Install the outer sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
