Preliminary Procedures

Remove rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia, Impact Bar, Energy Absorber, Fascia Bracket, and Fascia Insert Replacement .

Important: Do not refinish previously painted sensors.

Sensor, Rear Object

Tip

    • Press tab to release sensor from retainer.
    • Disconnect electrical connector.
    • Paint the new rear object sensor. Refer to Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems .
    • Check the paint thickness to ensure it does not exceed 6 mils using a paint thickness gage suitable for non-ferrous metals. Refer to Paint Gages .
