Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1363661  Size: SH

    Notice: To avoid paint damage, protect the area surrounding the part which you are removing or installing.

  1. Apply masking tape to the door and applique.
  2. Lower the window to the full down position.
  3. Remove the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
  4. Remove the outer belt sealing strip screw  (2) located at the rear of the door.

  5. Object Number: 1385553  Size: SH
  6. Release the front outer belt sealing strip retaining clip, by inserting a suitable flat-bladed tool to the front edge and lift upward.
  7. Remove the outer belt sealing strip from the door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1363661  Size: SH

    Important: When installing the outer belt sealing strip align the molding to the holes properly before pressing the front into place.

  1. Install the outer belt sealing strip to the door.
  2. 1.1. Insert the retaining clip for the outer belt sealing strip into the front hole of the door and push down firmly to lock in place.
    1.2. Install the outer belt sealing strip to pinch-weld flange.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the outer belt sealing strip screw (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
  6. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Inspect the window for proper operation.
  8. Remove the masking.
