Info - Elimination of Interior Door Trim Panel Stock for 2005 and 2006 Model Year Buick LaCrosse, Allure

Subject:Elimination of Interior Door Trim Panel Stock for 2005 and 2006 Model Year Buick LaCrosse, Allure

Models:2005-2006 Buick Allure (Canada Only), LaCrosse

Once stock of interior door trim panels for 2005 and 2006 LaCrosse/Allure vehicles is depleted, the 2007 interior door trim panels will become the replacement service part for past model years. However, there is a concern that the 2007 door trim panels may not fit the door frame properly, resulting in a gap.

The existing water deflector on past models will not allow the 2007 door trim attaching retainers to fully seat. This results in a loose door trim panel. DO NOT attempt to modify the existing water deflector and/or the new door trim panel.

When replacing an interior door trim panel, you will have to determine the date the panel was built. This can be done by inspecting the production date label on the back of the new door trim panel (refer to the illustration above). If the door trim panel was built AFTER 7/01/2006, it is a 2007 door trim panel, which will come with a new water deflector.

If you have a door trim panel built PRIOR to 7/01/06, use the existing water deflector on the vehicle and install the door trim panel (refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement in SI). Past model year water deflectors will still be available to order if they needed to be replaced for any reason.

If you have a door trim panel built AFTER 7/01/06, remove the existing water deflector from the vehicle's door frame and install the new water deflector and the 2007 door trim panel.
