This PI PI was updated to include the 2007 model year. Please disacrd PIP3752A.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment about a chirp or noise coming from the engine compartment. Upon inspection you may find that the noise is coming from the Accessory Drive Belt that powers the water pump, power steering pump, alternator, and other components.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Call TAC and set up a case referencing this PI.
Replace the belt with a Gates brand only aftermarket replacement part #K060905. Replace the accessory drive belt only and not the supercharger belt (if equipped).
Do NOT replace the tensioner pulley assembly or other related components in an attempt to correct this condition.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
