Removal Procedure

Important: Clean the fuel and evaporative emission (EVAP) connections and surrounding areas prior to disconnecting the lines in order to avoid possible system contamination.

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Remove the fuel fill pipe screws from the fuel filler pocket.

  3. Object Number: 1554565  Size: SH
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Remove the fill pipe bracket bolt (4) from the underbody rail.
  6. Remove the EVAP line (2) from the bracket (3).

  7. Object Number: 1554559  Size: SH
  8. Loosen the fuel fill pipe clamp (1) at the fuel tank.
  9. Remove the fuel fill pipe hose (2) from the fuel tank (3).
  10. Disconnect the vent pipe quick connect fitting from the fuel tank vent pipe quick connect fitting. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  12. Remove the fuel tank fill pipe.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1618903  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel tank fill pipe.

  2. Object Number: 1554559  Size: SH
  3. Install the fuel tank fill pipe hose (2) onto the fuel tank (3)
  4. Connect the vent pipe quick connect fitting to the fuel tank vent pipe quick connect fitting. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Tighten the fuel fill pipe clamp (1) at the fuel tank.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  8. Install the EVAP line (2) to the bracket (3).
  9. Install the fill pipe bracket bolt (4) to the underbody rail.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  11. Lower the vehicle.

  12. Object Number: 1618880  Size: SH
  13. Install the fuel fill pipe screws to the fuel filler pocket.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  15. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
