Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify that the rear power window fault is present.

Do both of the rear power windows operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Are both rear windows inoperative?

Go to Step 4

Test for a poor connection or an open in the lockout signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

  1. Disconnect the inoperative window switch.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Probe the lockout signal circuit of the inoperative window switch with a test lamp that is connected to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

  1. Connect a test lamp between the switch up signal circuit of the inoperative window switch and the down signal circuit of the inoperative window switch.
  2. Operate the driver window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both positions?

Test the power window master switch signal circuits of the inoperative window switch for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

  1. Connect the inoperative window switch.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative window motor.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the power window motor up circuit of the inoperative window motor and the power window motor down circuit of the inoperative window motor.
  4. Operate the inoperative window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both positions.

Test the inoperative window motor up and down circuits of the inoperative window motor for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative window motor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .
