The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A whistle noise, which can be described as a "teapot" whistle, after the vehicle is started and the blower is running anywhere from 1/4-7/8 speed. At full blower speed the HVAC turbulence noise covers up the whistle noise. The source of the noise is air escaping from between the left side temperature actuator shaft, behind the actuator motor, and the HVAC case.
To fix the noise apply GM lubricant, Super Lube w/PTFE - part number 12371287, using a 6" cotton swap all the way around the shaft to seal of the case housing to the actuator shaft area. This process can be done by removing only the hush panel and left side actuator.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
