Subject: | Unable to Program More Than One Key Fob |
Models: | 2007 Buick LaCrosse and Allure (Canada Only) |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Unable to program more than one key fob. This is due to a Tech 2 software issue.
The work around is to build the vehicle as a 2008 Buick LaCrosse or a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. Then use the following procedure:
When running the "invalidate all fobs" procedure, selecting the program button after the first fob has been learned causes the module not to learn the second fob.
Important: If step 1 is repeated when attempting to learn the second fob another message gets sent out. This causes the module to become confused as one fob has already been programmed. This disallows the second fob from being programmed. Do NOT repeat step 1.
Note: If you are still unable to program more than one key fob contact Techline.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
