METRIC PACK BULKHEAD CONNECTOR HARNESSES NOT INTERCHANGEABLE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1983 LESABRES AND REGALS WITHIN THE VIN RANGE OUTLINED BELOW LESABRE VIN'S REGAL VIN'S (FLINT PLANT) (FLINT PLANT) 443563 THROUGH 444195 874930 THROUGH 876634 (FAIRFAX PLANT) (ARLINGTON PLANT) 433617 THROUGH 434800 410881 THROUGH 412036 THIS NEW BULKHEAD CONNECTOR USES ALL THE SAME CIRCUITS AND WIRE COLOURS AS ALL THE OTHER '1983' LESABRES AND REGALS. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE ACTUAL CONNECTOR ITSELF; THEREFORE, THE ENGINE, FORWARD LAMP AND INSTRUMENT PANEL HARNESSES WILL NOT BE INTER- CHANGEABLE WITH EXISTING HARNESSES. (SEE FIGURE 1) WHEN DIAGNOSING ELECTRICAL CONDITIONS, USE THE 1983 BUICK SERVICE MANUAL AND FIGURE 2 SHOWING PIN CAVITY LOCATIONS IN THE NEW CONNECTOR. IF IT BECOMES NECESSARY TO REPLACE EITHER THE ENGINE HARNESS, FORWARD LAMP HARNESS OR INSTRUMENT PANEL HARNESS ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE NEW BULKHEAD CONNECTOR, USE THE FOLLOWING PART NUMBERS. VEHICLES NOT EQUIPPED WITH THE NEW CONNECTOR WILL USE THE PART NUMBERS LISTED IN THE PARTS BOOK.
