FRONT DISC BRAKE PADS LINING WEAR-NEW PADS P/N'S

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1984 'A' Series With JA2 or JA3, 1985 'A' Series With JA2 or JA8 Brake System and 1985 'C' Series ---------------------------------------

Some subject vehicles produced approximately June 20, 1984 through September 15, 1984 may experience front lining wear on only one pad out of the four on the vehicle. Wear of one pad in less than 10,000 miles (16,000 km) may be experienced. If this condition is experienced, use the front pads in kit, Part Number 18012392, which is available from GMWDD. This kit is available for all 1985 'C' Series and 1984 'A' Series with JA2 or JA3 brake systems and 19&5 'A' Series with JA2 and JA8 brake systems. If the front pads are replaced due to the early wear condition, the rotors should be inspected for roughness and resurfaced if required or replaced if wear exceeds serviceability guidelines.

NOTICE: The inboard pads use a thermal layer approximately .100 in. thick. When both the inboard and outboard pads are worn due to normal wear, the inboard pad will appear to have less wear due to the layer. This is a normal appearance and should not be confused with the wear condition described above.
