DRIVE SHAFT INBOARD THERMO- PLASTIC SEAL INSTALLATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985 'A', 'C' & 'J' Series Vehicles -----------------------------------

The inboard thermoplastic drive shaft seal must be assembled to a specific dimension to prevent ballooning of the seal. Follow these steps when assembling the seal:

1. Crimp clamp at drive axle shaft (small end).

2. Compress joint and seal to 130 mm (5 1/8 inch). See fig.

3. Crimp clam at joint end (large end).
