The procedure in this bulletin replaces the procedure published in the following Service Manuals:

PROCEDURE

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Negative battery cable.

- Raise the vehicle and suitably support. Refer to General Information (Section OA).

2. Starter motor wiring.

3. Bolts from flywheel cover.

4. Flywheel cover.

5. Bolts from starter motor.

6. Starter motor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Starter motor.

2. Bolts to starter motor

Tighten - Bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb. ft.)

3. Flywheel cover.

4. Flywheel cover bolts

Tighten - Bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.)

5. Starter motor wiring

- Lower vehicle

6. Negative battery cable

Tighten - Cable.to 12 N.m (106 lb. in.)
