VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 E,F,R,M-(CONVERT ONLY);1993 A 1991-93 B,C,E,F,L,M-(CONVERT ONLY),R,Y; 1992-93 H MODELS
THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES AND REPLACES GM OF CANADA BULLETIN NUMBER 92-8-104. THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO INCLUDE THE 1993 MODEL YEAR FOR B, C, E, F, L, M-(CONVERT ONLY), R, Y AND H MODELS AND TO ADD 1993 A MODELS, ALSO TO UPDATE DELCO SERVICE CENTRES' LISTING.
Supplemental Inflatable Restraint DERMS used in the above models are to be serviced by exchange with one of the AC Delco Service Centres listed at the end of this bulletin. The Centres are authorized to pre-exchange by sending an exchange unit to the dealership in advance of receiving a problem unit for repair. The only cases in which a dealer should order a DERM through GMSPO is when the DERM is missing or physically damaged.
AC DELCO EXCHANGE PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the DERM unit requiring repair from the vehicle; complete all red shaded areas of the AC Delco Warranty Repair Claim (ACD-1 078A). Send the unit and all five copies of the completed form to the authorized AC Delco Centre chosen from Table 1, or from SD-2. ALL INFORMATION EXCEPT FOR THE DEALER'S SIGNATURE MUST BE PRINTED LEGIBLY OR TYPED.
2. The repaired unit will be returned to the dealership with the dealership copy of the AC Delco form, propely completed. In cases where the dealership has received a pre-exchange unit, the completed form will be mailed after return of the inoperative unit to the repair centre.
3. The dealer copy of the ACD-1078A and the freight receipt or shipping invoice are to be retained in accordance with requirements detailed in the current GM of Canada Service Policies and Procedures Manual.
TIMELY RETURN OF UNITS FOR REPAIR:
Return of units for repair in cases of pre-exchange is critical to the success of the exchange programs. When dealerships do not immediately return cores, it results in local parts shortages. If dealerships are delinquent on core returns, AC Delco will contact GM of Canada for action by Warranty Administration.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
