VEHICLES ASSEMBLED WITH REAR COIL SPRINGS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED WITH AN INCORRECT FREE SPRING HEIGHT SPECIFICATION.
INSPECT VEHICLE PER PROCEDURE BELOW, AND ON THOSE THAT DO NOT MEET INSPECTION CRITERIA, REPLACE EXISTING REAR COIL SPRINGS WITH NEW SPRINGS, P/N 22077724.
INSPECTION/SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. POSITION VEHICLE ON A FLAT LEVEL SURFACE.
2. CHECK THE VEHICLE TO BE SURE:
A. THE FUEL GAGE READS FULL. B. THE SPARE TIRE AND TOOLS ARE PROPERLY LOCATED AND SECURED. C. THE VEHICLE IS FREE OF ICE, SNOW AND MUD ACCUMULATION. D. FRONT AND REAR TIRE INFLATION IS AT RECOMMENDED PRESSURE AS INDICATED ON VEHICLE TIRE PLACARD. E. HEAVY OBJECTS ARE REMOVED FROM VEHICLE. F. THE HOOD, TRUNK LID AND DOORS ARE ALL CLOSED.
3. MEASURE THE DISTANCE FROM THE GROUND TO THE UPPER SURFACE OF THE REAR WHEEL WELL OPENINGS THROUGH THE CENTERLINE OF THE WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLIES (DIMENSION "R" AS SHOWN IN ILLUSTRATION) ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE.
4. IF MEASURED DISTANCE "R" EXCEEDS DIMENSION SHOWN BELOW BY APPLICABLE TIRE SIZE ON VEHICLE, REPLACE REAR SPRING AT THAT CORNER OF VEHICLE, FOLLOWING SERVICE MANUAL PROCEDURES IN SECTION 3D, REAR SUSPENSION.
